  • They Both Die at the End – General Review
Summer break is the perfect opportunity to get back into reading. Adam Silvera’s (2017) novel, They Both Die at the End, can serve as a stepping stone into the realm of reading. The pace is fast, action-packed, and develops loveable characters. Also, Silvera switches point of view each chapter where narration mainly focuses on the protagonists, […]
  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Once more, my course, Creative Writing Thesis Workshop under Professor Amorak Huey, was instructed to present our favorite […]

Team huddle before the game starts

It is only May, and yet we are still preparing for another season of hockey in the orange and brown. There are still question marks surrounding who may or may not be on the BG Hockey roster for this upcoming season, but recruits, players and fans have no question about which days to put on their BG jersey.

Falcon hockey has released their game schedule for the 2024-25 season, including days, teams, home/away, and playoffs.

The team will suit up first against familiar non-conference opponents Mercyhurst in Erie, Penn., and Western Michigan in both Kalamazoo and Bowling Green, just as they did in 2023-24. BG also plays their annual Ohio State series, another home-home, this season a few days before Halloween.

Their conference play starts with a favorable matchup at home against Ferris State, last season’s last-place team who went 6-17-1 and lost in the first round of the Mason Cup playoffs.

Every CCHA team plays two teams twice instead of four times. BGs two-team draw happens to be Michigan Tech(home) and Minnesota State(away), the last two winners of the Mason Cup playoffs.

Two of the Falcons’ last three regular season series are St. Thomas and Bemidji State, who finished second and first last season, giving BG a rocky road before the playoffs.

Dennis Williams will stand behind the bench for the first time as full head coach against Mercyhurst away, and the first time in Bowling Green on Oct. 12.
