Bowling Green hockey is finalizing a deal to sign BG alumnus and ex-head coach Dennis Williams for the 2024-25 season.

Williams began his coaching career at BG as a grad assistant in his fifth year at the university (2002-03’). He has head coaching experience, heading Neumann University, Bowling Green as an interim head coach, the Amarillo Bulls, Bloomington Thunder, and Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League.

As the head coach and general manager of the Silvertips, Williams went a total of 204-66-12 in five years, placing first in four of the five. He has gone 45-18-2 this season, finishing as the third seed in the western conference of the WHL.

Williams has coached seven current NHL players in his time at Everett, three forwards, two defensemen and two goaltenders.

Updates to come on official signing and other staff changes.
