The BGSU women’s golf team opened its 2025 spring season at the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate, finishing fourth out of 14 teams at Wigwam Golf Resort. The Falcons put together a strong showing in their home event, securing their best finish as a host team since 2022.
Leading the way was Sammie Dolce, who climbed eight spots in the final round to finish fourth individually, shooting a career-low 69 (-2) in the process. Dolce carded eight birdies throughout the tournament, with five coming in the final round. Macie Elzinga made an impact in her first spring event, finishing 10th, marking the best tournament placement of her Freshman career.
Bowling Green also finished as the top Mid-American Conference team in the field, surpassing Northern Illinois by one stroke.
Dolce finished the tournament at +8 (221) after rounds of 73-79-69, while Elzinga followed with a +17 (228) across three rounds. Ava O’Sullivan wrapped up the event at +19 (230), while Makenna Jones climbed the leaderboard on the final day to finish at +15 (232). McKenzie Miller rounded out the team lineup, shooting a +32 (245).
Competing individually, Addison Kartusch carded a +24 (237).
Weber State claimed the tournament title with a 904 (+52), followed by Texas El Paso at 905 (+53) and Abilene Christian at 909 (+57). The Falcons finished just behind them in fourth place at 911 (+59), holding off Northern Illinois and Eastern Kentucky, who tied for fifth at 912 (+60).
Bowling Green will return to the course Feb. 21-23 at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, which is being hosted by Western Michigan in Rio Verde, Arizona.
