Earlier this week, Kaia Woods announced on social media that she would be playing her fourth season at the collegiate level in Bowling Green.
This marks head coach Fred Chmiel’s first addition to the team this offseason.
Woods spent the last two seasons with BG’s Mid-American Conference (MAC) rival Akron. The Tiffin, Ohio native appeared in 29 games for the Zips two seasons ago, averaging 6.9 points and just over 20 minutes per contest, before missing last season.
With two of Bowling Green’s top three passers departing, Woods, whose strong suit is passing, dished out 61 assists in 2023-2024. That number would’ve ranked fourth on the Falcons this past season.
Standing at 5-foot-3, Woods will become the shortest Falcon to take the floor since Rachel Konieczki in 2017. Konieczki’s stature is also 5-foot-3.
Before Akron, Woods spent her freshman and sophomore seasons on Washington State’s women’s basketball team, appearing in 17 games, including an NCAA Tournament appearance.
