The popular cinnamon roll chain, Cinnabon, is coming to the BGSU campus. Cinnabon will be located in Falcon’s Nest in the Bowen Thompson Student Union.
The news was confirmed by Jon Zachrich, director of marketing, communications and technology for BGSU dining, after construction crews were spotted working at the location.
Zachrich said the location is expected to open around the first day of the BGSU fall semester, which begins Aug. 25. The grand opening will feature giveaways and special promotions.
Cinnabon replaced the Hissho Sushi location. However, Hissho Sushi will still be served on campus through Falcon’s Nest and Market locations through a back-of-house kitchen.
Zachrich said the reason for the replacement is based on results from the dining services’ Voice to Vision survey conducted each October. The results showed feedback for a dessert and breakfast option.
In addition to Cinnabon, there will also be some other changes made to dining locations across campus.
Houston Street Subs and Jamba have both transitioned into Ziggy’s Deli. The deli is a premium sandwich concept offering build-your-own salads, composed salads and smoothies.
Pub 1910 has been rebranded as Cantina 1910, a new Tex-Mex concept. Sunday brunch service will continue due to its popularity. New menu items and customer favorites will be featured.
Al Dente at Kreischer Sundial has transitioned into The Weekly Dial, a rotating dining concept featuring four themed events. These meal themes include Not Chipotle (Tex-Mex bowls), Al Dente Pasta, Homestyle Falcon Bowls, and Ramen.
