The calendar of events at BGSU for Latinx Heritage Month (BGSU Office of Multicultural Affairs).

BGSU announced they will be celebrating the kickoff of Latino/a/x Heritage Month at the University Lawn on Sept. 15.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs will be hosting the event and Mariachi Garibaldi de Columbus will be performing songs by Vicente Fernandez and Pedro Infante.

The kickoff is scheduled to occur from noon to 1 p.m.

Latino/a/x Heritage Month occurs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to “recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community,” according to the United States Department of Education.

In the case of rain, the event will be held in room 308 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Appetizers will be provided to those who attend.
