Out in Normal, IL, Bowling Green women’s golf opened the season  at the Redbird Invitational Sunday and Monday.

The team had a solid third round, with the whole team shooting 287 (-1). Ava O’Sullivan was the highlight of the team, placing seventh at +1 (74-72-71-217).

O’Sullivan’s first tournament as a BGSU athlete did not go unnoticed, nor did Sammie Dolce, who finished tied for 19th at +7 (77-75-71-223). Mallory Swartz placed 44th with a +13 score (80-75-74-229).

BG’s overall score was +32 and 896 for all three rounds, with their under-par score in the third round significantly changing their statistics.

“I am pleased with the overall performance of the team this weekend,” said head coach Erin Fahey. “After a tough first round, they battled back hard and played well the rest of the way.”

The Falcons have their next match Sept. 25-26 at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic at Colorado State’s Harmony Club Course.
