Bowling Green baseball landed their first addition out of the transfer portal as former Troy Trojans’ senior pitcher Tate Farquhar announcing his commitment to the Falcons via his Instagram on June 24. Farquhar was recruited by Bowling Green, Army, Spring Arbor and Michigan State coming out of Lakeland High School in 2022.
Hailing from Highland, Michigan, the move brings Farquhar back to the midwest. He spent his first three years at Michigan State, and last year at Troy.
He spent both the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Michigan State under a medical redshirt. In 2025, still as a Spartan, he went 3-3 over 44.2 innings, with an earned run average of 6.65.
Farquhar then transferred to Troy for 2026, appearing in 5 games (4.2 innings pitched) and allowing 10 runs over that span, with scoreless appearances in innings against Georgia and Southern Mississippi.
Farquhar has the potential to be a key piece in the Falcon bullpen in 2027, with head coach Kyle Hallock losing nine of the 13 pitchers from the 2026 roster.
