Statement from Falcon Media Sports Network regarding BGSU Hockey and radio travel plans

Drake Harlett

Hello,

As sports content director for Falcon Media Sports Network, I pride myself in creating and sustaining the best possible content possible for our audiences in all the media avenues we have.

For many years, our program has committed to broadcasting all home and most road games for BGSU Hockey. However, as the transition to a new long-term broadcaster has gotten underway, our new members need the time and education to grow as broadcasters, before we commit to travelling to any road contests.

We believe that this decision will allow the adequate time to have our new team grow and gain the necessary knowledge of the game first, because as always, our commitment is ensuring the appropriate quality for the program and the listening audience.

Therefore, until further notice, for series that involve travel, our team WILL NOT be sending broadcasters out live to the venues.

We are working on alternative ways to provide consistent, quality content on the radio and across all Falcon Media channels, in order to deliver on our promise of being a leader of coverage for the BGSU Hockey program. At the same time, we are 100% committed to calling every home BGSU Hockey game, which is exciting to have start up in just a few days!

We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope that you continue to follow our team and their stories on Falcon Media Sports Network’s official X page (@bg_fmsn).

Thank you for your understanding, and Ay Ziggy!

Sincerely,

Steve Iwanek
