Bowling Green hockey announced its incoming class for the 2026-2027 season, introducing three forwards, five defensemen, and one goaltender.
The nine additions follow the Falcons’ ten departures: six players graduated, and four players left through the transfer portal.
Patton has spent the last two years playing for Mount Royal University in Calgary. He tallied the third-most points on the team last season, recording eight goals and 22 assists.
Before his time at Mount Royal, Patton played for three teams over five years in the Western Hockey League (WHL). In his final season in the WHL, he totaled 62 points over 58 games played.
Over the past five years, Soto played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Through his first four seasons, he played for the Kingston Frontenacs, but was traded to the Peterborough Petes for this past season.
In his final OHL season, Soto scored 19 goals and notched 32 assists, setting his career-high in assists in a single season. He was also one of two Petes to not miss a single game throughout the regular season.
An Ohio native, Verdon is coming off his best season of play in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
In his last season with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, he totaled 95 points: 36 goals and 59 assists. He was the landslide team leader in points for the year and third in the league. He grabbed 22 more points in the Huskies’ 17 postseason games.
The 21-year-old Latvian played for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the QMJHL over the last four years. In the 2025-2026 season, he served as an alternate captain.
Bulans scored 12 goals and notched 28 assists last season, leading the Saguenéens in goals scored by a defenseman. He scored seven more goals over their 15 games of the playoffs.
Bushy transferred within the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), moving from Lake Superior State to Bowling Green.
He has not shown strong offensive numbers in his three years with the Lakers, scoring a career-high 15 points in 2023-24. In his last two seasons, Bushy combined for 27 points and only 14 penalty minutes.
In Campell’s last three years, he competed for the Kitchener Rangers, last season’s OHL champions. He also served as an alternate captain in his final and championship year.
Campbell, rarely a goal-scorer, is statistically backed up by his plus-minus ratings. In his last two seasons, he combined for a plus-45 regular season rating and plus-14 for the postseason.
Leslie played within the WHL over the course of the last six years. From 2020-2025, he played for the Vancouver Giants, serving as the team’s captain for his last year. He was traded to the Kelowna Rockets before the 2025-2026 season.
Penalty minutes were his Achilles’ heel in his time in the WHL. Last season, Leslie spent 67 minutes in the box through 67 games played. But,he did tie for the team lead in assists, tallying 50.
Wilson spent his last three seasons exclusively playing in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). His last two seasons saw him with the Coquitlam Express.
In his final season with the Express, Wilson scored five goals and recorded 16 assists. But, in the Express’s five games of the playoffs, Wilson served 15 minutes of penalty time and did not tally a point.
Though playing in the WHL for four years prior, Michaluk competed for the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL in his last season.
He finished his last regular season with a 14-9-1 record. He had been unable to finish a season with a winning record in his time with the WHL.
The move to bring in Michaluk follows goaltender Cole Moore’s transfer out of Bowling Green. Michaluk will join rising sophomore Jacob Steinman and rising junior Tyler Palmer in the BG goaltending room.
