Bowling Green will be geared up for a lively week as Firefly Festival Night on Friday, June 20 happening during the Second Annual Restaurant Week June 16 – 22.
Restaurant week, planned by Ardy Gonyer and Tim Emmerich, owners of Easystreet Café and Call of the Canyon, raises money for the Brown Bag Food Project, a nonprofit that provides food assistance to Wood County residents
In 2024, the fundraiser deemed it a success by raising $6,500 for the Project, according to BG Independent. With a goal of raising more this year in the upcoming week, organizers told BG Independent Media.
“Ten percent of all sales from the week will be donated to the Brown Bag Food Project of Wood County, an organization that provides food to those in need,” organizers told ABC13.
Each participating restaurant pledged $100 up front to help advertise the Brown Bag Project event. Organizers in Bowling Green coordinated 27 local restaurants participating in 2025.
The middle of Restaurant Week will feature the first of three Firefly festival Nights returning this summer. The first event occurs on Friday June 20, with two more scheduled in July and August.
“Firefly Nights is a nonprofit organization dedicated to planning and executing three strategic events in the heart of Bowling Green, Ohio,” according to Firefly Organization Website.
The festival will be held on Main Street in Bowling Green and will include fun, food trucks and Timmy C and the Gamechangers during the night of June 20.
