Coffee, whether hot or iced, is a staple beverage of the fall season. This autumn, falcons can warm up or embrace the cold at these four on-campus coffee spots, also good for hanging out or studying.
Starbucks
Starbucks is popular for a reason: they’re always on top of the seasonal trends. New drinks are constantly coming out and they’re already ahead of the game as the winter season approaches. Current seasonal treats include the peppermint mocha, caramel brulee latte, sugar cookie latte and gingerbread latte. As always, they are also carrying seasonal bakery items such as the Cinnamon Pull-apart, Polar Bear Cake Pop, Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish. They may have just arrived, but don’t take your time checking out these new treats. Head to the Student Union on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., or weekends between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Forhan’s Cafe
Those who like to grab a beverage or snack to study with can head to Forhan’s Cafe, located in the Maurer Center, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is conveniently located close to many other class buildings like the Education Building and Central Hall, so if you’re looking to make a quick pit stop between classes to quench your thirst, Forhan’s is the place to go. They serve Crimson Cup menu items as well as breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Like Starbucks, Forhan’s has a diverse menu of teas, coffees, iced and hot. They also do mobile ordering if you’re especially in a hurry.
Einstein Bros. Bagels
One of the only on-campus locations that still accepts cash, Einstein Bros. Bagels is a great option for breakfast and coffee lovers. They are open early in the morning and well into the afternoon and they carry a range of breakfast and lunch options such as bagels, sandwiches, coffee, fresh fruit and much more. It is attached to the Oaks Dining Center and has its own seating area. It’s seating by the windows makes for a good view of the campus for those who enjoy people-watching and the counters equipped with outlets make for a good study spot. Check out Einstein Bros. Bagels every day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sundial Cafe
Kreischer residents don’t have to travel far to get a coffee or pastry, though the Sundial Cafe in Kreischer is open to all students. Those who live in Kreischer can enjoy a hot beverage in their pjs, but anyone else can stop by too. The Sundial Cafe is open on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grab a pastry and enjoy it while studying or with friends, or on your way to class. Or, order a beverage to chase down your burger from the nearby burger bar!
