  • They Both Die at the End – General Review
Summer break is the perfect opportunity to get back into reading. Adam Silvera’s (2017) novel, They Both Die at the End, can serve as a stepping stone into the realm of reading. The pace is fast, action-packed, and develops loveable characters. Also, Silvera switches point of view each chapter where narration mainly focuses on the protagonists, […]
  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Once more, my course, Creative Writing Thesis Workshop under Professor Amorak Huey, was instructed to present our favorite […]

The Falcons (3-1-2) defeated Northern Kentucky University (0-2-3) 2-1 at Cochrane Stadium on Tuesday night, earning their third win of the season and staying undefeated at home.

The Norse would get on the board first in the 34’, as forward Sam Robinson found the back of the net off a cross from Ben Hegge.

The Orange and Brown would quickly answer back, as Nathan Masters would be taken down in the box for a Falcon penalty kick. Junior midfielder Taylor Dyson would get his first goal for BG, burying the PK and tying it up for the Falcons in the 39’.

After the first 45’ where both teams combined for 16 shots, the two sides would go into the second half with everything to play for.

BG would find what would end up being the game-winner, as junior midfielder Jake Bergin would find the back of the net in the 71’ off an assist from Masters.

The Falcons defense would hold strong down the stretch, securing the victory for the Orange and Brown.

BG was without defenders Josh Erlandson, Kyle Cusimano, and Amer Dedic, along with star junior midfielder Alberto Anaya for the match.

Freshmen Saul Rios and Anthony Hernandez made their first collegiate starts for the Falcons, with Rios playing the full 90’ and Hernandez playing 86’.

Next up for the Falcons, is a trip up north for their first conference game in the Missouri Valley, taking on a familiar foe in the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday, Sept. 16th. Kick-off for the match is set for 4:00 p.m.
