Andrews, Otten, Walz earn MAC East Division honors

Bowling Green Volleyball’s Jessica Andrews, Amanda Otten, and Jaden Walz were all named to the MAC East Division Players of the Week awards list for the week of Sept. 18 earlier Monday afternoon.

Andrews earned MAC East Defensive Player of the Week through her dominance at the top of the net, collecting 14 blocks across two matches against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday and Sunday (five and nine respectively).

For Otten and Walz, the two earned the MAC East Setter of the Week as co-award recipients. With this award, Otten now has collected two weekly division awards in just four weeks, while for Walz, this is her first of the season.

On Friday against Michigan, Walz led the way with 27 assists and nine digs, while on Sunday, Otten led the charge in assists with 22 assists, while adding in eight kills and six digs.

Bowling Green hopes to continue the momentum they’ve built up this week as they begin MACtion on Thursday and Friday against Northern Illinois at the Stroh.
