Lineup of activities for commuter students during Spring Week of Welcome

As students return to campus for the spring semester, BGSU is hosting a variety of activities and some are designed specifically for commuter students.

During the Spring Week of Welcome BGSU commuter students can participate in any of the week-long activities hosted by the University. Activities include the following:

  • Monday, Jan. 8 – Meet-up Monday 
    • In the Off-Campus Student Lounge, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. students can enter free giveaways and connect with other commuter students.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 9 – Commuter Students: Life Hacks and Lunch 
    • In room 407 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, from 12 to 12:30 p.m. students can bring a lunch and join in on the monthly discussion topics.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 10 – Winter Wonderland Warm-Up
    • In the Off-Campus Student Lounge, from 1 to 3 p.m., students can enjoy free fondue treats alongside other commuter and/or transfer students prior to the Winter Wonderland.
  • Thursday, Jan. 11 – Lunch Social
    • Commuter and transfer students can meet for a lunch social in the Kreischer Sundial Freddie Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the first 50 students will receive a free meal voucher.

Blake Pierce is serving as the 2023 - 2024 News Content Director for BG Falcon Media. He is pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Journalism with a specialization in Public Relations and a minor in Music Industry.

Previous Work

Pierce has reported for BG Falcon Media and specifically written articles for the weekly BG News. Pierce's favorite article reported for BG Falcon Media was on the increase of Electric Vehicles in the Bowling Green community. The article can be found here.  He also completed a promotions internship with BG Falcon Radio, organizing events and campaigns to spread awareness of the organization on campus. Pierce currently works with WTVG-TV, beginning in the Summer of 2023 as a Digital Content Producer. Some of his work with the organization can be found here.
