  • My Favorite Book – Freshwater
If there’s one book that I believe everyone should read once in their life, it’s my favorite book – Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi. From my course, Queer Literature under Dr. Bill Albertini, I discovered Emezi’s Freshwater (2018). Once more, my course, Creative Writing Thesis Workshop under Professor Amorak Huey, was instructed to present our favorite […]

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Bowling Green volleyball announced that senior middle blocker Alexis Mettille will be using her fifth-year of eligibility to return to the Falcons for the upcoming 2024 season.

“Alexis embodies everything good about college athletics & what it means to be a BGSU Falcon,” said head coach Danijela Tomic. “She brings invaluable experience and leadership to our team. Alexis’ dedication & passion for the game and her alma mater are inspiring.” We are excited to have Alexis with us for one more season!”

Mettille is the only senior from the 2023 class to announce her return for another season. Earlier in the year, former BGSU setter Jaden Walz announced that she was transferring to Washington State University for her final year of eligibility.

From Canfield, OH., Mettille last season played in 31 of BG’s 32 matches, logging 118 sets. She led the Falcons in blocks with 103, finishing third in the Mid-American Conference.

With her back in the rotation, BGSU’s middle blocker position figures to be one of the best in the conference, as she joins fellow returnees Jessica Andrews and Helen Wilford.
