As the college football season has started, thousands of fans will be piling into Doyt L. Perry Stadium to cheer on the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) football team.
But to a freshman, this event may seem daunting. To make it easier, BG Falcon Media has broken it all down, from how to buy tickets to what is allowed in the stadium.
To access your free student ticket, use your phone and visit https://bgsufalcons.evenue.net/. From there, click on “Student Account Login” and sign in.
From the next page, you can “View Your Free Student Tickets.” Every BGSU student receives one free ticket to each home football game. From this page, you can also “Purchase Guest Tickets” if you want to bring someone who is not a student. By being a student, you can buy a general admission guest ticket for $8.
When you tap on “View Your Free Student Tickets/My Account,” it brings you to a screen showing all of your free student tickets and any tickets you have also bought. When you click on a ticket, you can then add it to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The football tickets are “ALL-IN-1,” meaning once you add it to your wallet, it will update with every game. So once you add it once, you won’t need to add another football student ticket to your wallet. If you purchase a guest ticket, that will need to be added to your wallet separately.
Once you buy your ticket, you should plan on getting to the game a few hours early. The Ziggy Zone Student Tailgate will be a pregame space where students can enjoy a live DJ, tailgate games, inflatables and more. The Ziggy Zone will be open on Thursday, Aug. 28, Saturday, Sept. 13, Saturday, Oct. 11, Saturday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 1.
For the home opener on Thursday, Aug. 28, against Lafayette College, the first 1,500 students will receive a replica Eddie George jersey. The first 750 students to the Ziggy Zone will also be provided free food as President Rodney K. Rogers and University Advocate Sandra B. Earle are hosting the President’s Student Tailgate.
It is also important to know the theme of the game. The home opener is an Orange Wave, so make sure to show BGSU spirit by wearing the color orange.
Items not permitted in the stadium include coolers, food and beverages, weapons, including pepper spray, backpacks, scooters and bicycles.
The home opener starts at 6 p.m. and gates open 90 minutes prior to start time. The Ziggy Zone runs from 4 to 6 p.m. And the President’s Student Tailgate at the Ziggy Zone runs from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
