The Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Center for Faculty Excellence and University Libraries have created an artificial intelligence (AI) survey for students, faculty and staff.
The goal of the survey is to understand how BGSU community members both use and perceive AI tools. The questions ask for participants’ confidence levels, ethical considerations and any needs for guidance or support regarding the use of AI.
In total, the survey takes around five minutes to complete. The survey questions revolve around familiarity and how you use AI tools and resources. Also, there is a question seeking participants’ opinions on AI support at BGSU and what could help students, faculty and staff better understand different AI tools.
The survey consists of a few multiple-choice and short-answer response questions.
Multiple-choice questions focus on comfort and knowledge levels about using AI tools. The short-answer response questions ask to elaborate on those levels and provide more in-depth opinions on the understanding of AI.
Participants’ results will help with future institutional planning and might also contribute to research and scholarly work.
After completing the survey, the responses remain anonymous and confidential.
There will also be an option for anyone who completed the survey to volunteer for a 60-minute follow-up interview for a national AI literacy study.
The additional interview is optional and doesn’t impact anything from the survey itself.
