The city of Bowling Green announced on Nov. 6 that there will be $50,000 of emergency food service funding for organizations that serve residents who face food insecurity. This came after SNAP funding had been paused during the federal government shutdown.
Though President Donald Trump signed a bill ending the longest federal government shutdown in United States history on Wednesday, Nov. 12, it is unclear as of now how SNAP funding will be affected.
Organizations that are providing food assistance to Bowling Green residents have until Sunday, Nov. 16, to apply for financial support. The city of Bowling Green expressed that organizations must email completed applications to the city’s community development department at [email protected]. The application form for organizations can be found here: https://buff.ly/Et3WbMQ.
