Class of 2026 Midtown High School tight end Kentrell White announced his commitment to BGSU football Tuesday afternoon.
White is a 3-star recruit with a 0.8856 247Sports composite score, becoming the highest-rated recruit in program history. The previous top recruit in program history was quarterback James Morgan, who had a .8772 247Sports composite score.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound tight end previously committed to Auburn on July 4, 2025, before decommitting from the Tigers on Dec. 2, 2025, due to a coaching change.
He is ranked the No. 17 athlete in the country in his class by Rivals, as well as the No. 30 tight end in the country in his class by 247Sports.
White also held offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, UConn, Vanderbilt, Arkansas State, Georgia State, Troy, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Boston College, Western Kentucky, Bethune-Cookman, East Tennessee State and Weber State.
Along with playing tight end at Midtown, White also took snaps at wide receiver and defensive back, along with returning kickoffs.
Additionally, White is a two-time regional qualifier in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
