Three Genoa High School schoolmates shared the same tastes and interest in music, leading to the formation of Adore After Dark.
But they needed a drummer.
“We had made a few songs, but we never had a drummer. I got an email one day from BandMix, which is basically musician Tinder, and it says Nathan Harza, Bowling Green,” said bassist Andrew Garcia. “We shared similar musical interests, so he kind of just fell into our lap.” .
Harza’s arrival rounded out the Bowling Green alternative group that included Garcia, singer Aralyn Plantz and guitarist Skylar Ju.
Each member of the band described music as a hobby, citing childhood memories of bands such as Nirvana and learning how to play and craft their own music because of those influences.
Adore After Dark performed on many stages but it took some time to really feel comfortable in front of an audience.
“From the beginning it was a little awkward and nerve wrecking, but we really worked on our stage presence, and we have started to have fun and engage with the audience,” said Plantz.
The band is preparing new music, starting with several singles that they have been working on with a plan for a future album.
