BGSU hockey’s graduating senior forward Quinn Emerson has signed his first career professional contract by inking a deal that will see the Manhattan Beach, California native join the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League (AHL) this upcoming season.
Across his four seasons with the Orange and Brown, Emerson appeared in 136 games while scoring 65 career points made up of 24 goals and 41 assists.
Emerson set career highs in goals (10), assists (23), points (33), shots (78) and power play goals (3) across 36 games during his senior season. Emerson, who served as an alternate captain last season, led the Falcon roster in points while ranking in the top 10 in the CCHA for assists and points.
Emerson joins Jaden Grant (Toledo Walleye), Gustav Stjernberg (Colorado Avalanche), and Jackson Niedermayer (San Diego Gulls) as members of last season’s BGSU hockey roster who have signed professional contracts.
The Abbotsford Canucks, who serve as the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, finished last season with a 28-37-4-3 record and did not qualify for the AHL playoffs after finishing in ninth place in the Pacific Division.
Emerson and the Canucks’ will open the 2026-27 season on the road against the Calgary Wranglers on Oct. 2.
