The Gregory T. DeCrane Applauding Excellence Awards is celebrating its 30th anniversary by honoring students and staff members through individual awards and student organization awards.
For the awards, students can either nominate themselves or others; the application deadline is March 9, and the nomination deadline is March 13. The ceremony is on April 23 at 7 p.m. at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Lenhart Grand Ballroom.
One of the individual awards is the President’s Award for Distinguished Service, presented to undergraduates who are graduating this semester and graduate students who have contributed to Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and the Bowling Green community. A minimum of 3.0 GPA required.
The Student Engagement Award is open to all undergraduates who have exhibited leadership and service on campus. The Outstanding Community Service Award honors students for volunteerism or employment in service to the public good.
The student organization awards include the Outstanding Student Organization of the Year, recognizing organizations for their achievements, leadership development and contributions to BGSU.
Student Organization Member of the Year highlights a member who exceeds expectations and demonstrates a commitment to their organization. Student Organization Advisor of the Year recognizes an advisor who has encouraged and supported student organizations.
