The decorative poles around downtown Bowling Green are getting a makeover. City crews began repainting the poles at the beginning of the week.
Each pole will go through a preparation process of being primed with a gray base. When work is finished, the poles will be a custom Heritage Green.
A city spokesperson says temporary parking and lane restrictions will take place throughout the construction process.
Hometown Hero banners and flower baskets will be removed and reinstalled as work is finished in each work zone. Likewise, the city said trash cans and benches will be removed and repainted as well.
The city said the project is expected to be completed around mid-July and is weather-dependent.
