Bowling Green is expanding its curbside recycling program to accept more materials according to a city news release. Weekly collection will continue using city trucks, and recyclables should still be placed loose (not bagged) in your blue recycling container.
Recyclables are now processed by Rumpke Recycling, and the list of accepted materials has grown.
Accepted Items:
- Glass Bottles & Jars – All colors, no ceramics, dishes, or windows.
- Plastics (#1,2,4,5, & 7) – Beverage bottles, milk jugs, yogurt/butter tubs, plastic cups, no bulky plastic.
- Paper Food Containers – Milk/ice cream cartons, juice boxes, cereal boxes, coffee cups.
- Paper – Newpaper, catalogs, office paper, junk mail, no shredded paper.
- Cardboard – Flatten boxes.
- Aluminum – Flatten if possible.
Not Accepted:
- Plastic bags
- Bagged recyclables
- Bulky plastics, film plastic, shredded paper
For non-curbside users, 24-hour drop-off is still available at the Bowling Green Recycling Center and 14 other sites in Wood County.
