After last week’s relatively cool and comfortable temperatures, the hazy days of summer arrive this week.
13abc meteorologist Ross Ellet’s Facebook post warned us to expect a heatwave this week with temperatures soaring into the 90s by midweek. “The dewpoint could reach 75 to 80 (highest of the year). The heat index will likely top 100,” the post read.
The Weather Channel forecast looks similar, with temperatures in the 90s beginning Wednesday and isolated or scattered thunderstorms possible most of the week.
The Accuweather forecast includes plenty of humidity, but with only one day with a forecast high above 90 and much lower precipitation chances.
Northwest Ohio is far behind its normal rainfall for July, but another recent Ellet Facebook post indicates “the weather pattern for the 2nd half of July should provide above normal rainfall.” The National Weather Service reports Northwest Ohio is far behind in annual precipitation. Our area typically has 20 to 23 inches of precipitation by mid-July, but most stations report less than 15 inches.
