To kick off Constitution Week, Bowling Green State University’s (BGSU) Democracy and Public Policy Research Network hosted a celebration kickoff table at the Bowen Thompson Student-Union Oval on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The celebration kickoff is part of a series of events that BGSU’s Democracy and Public Policy Research Network is hosting to celebrate Constitution Day, which is celebrated annually on Sept. 17. The organization is in collaboration with the university’s Department of History, Department of Political Science and the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement host these events on campus.
Faculty and student volunteers handed out pocket constitutions and popcorn to those who passed by the oval. The table also included Ohio voter registration forms, pins and stickers.
Constitution Week continues at BGSU’s Bowen Thompson Student-Union on Thursday, Sept. 18, with panels exploring the importance of the Constitution taking place from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
