The Bowling Green Fire Division (BGFD) is holding its annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Pearl Street Fire Station on 1060 Pearl St. from 9 a.m. to noon.
Every year, BGFD holds its open house in October during Fire Safety Month, which aims to raise awareness and inform community members on fire safety and prevention.
During the event, firefighters will demonstrate different safety scenarios, such as a fire extinguishers and a live fire demonstration. They will also provide educational offerings for guests to take home, including child car seats, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
The event is free to the public and will have a wide range of engaging activities for guests and their families, including a pancake and sausage breakfast for a donation, exploring firetrucks and fire equipment, an inflatable safety house, firefighter photo props and tours of the fire station.
