Watch Bowling Green turn into giggle city this Friday, Oct. 3 at The Plastic Shatners Comedy Show. From 6:45 to 8 p.m. in Education Building Room 115, The Plastic Shatners will perform an improv comedy show free for all to enjoy. Even integrating audience suggestions into their performance, The Shatners will flex their improvisational muscles while including you in the process. Even if your idea isn’t remotely funny, this group will likely do their best to spin straw into comedic gold. Prepare to laugh, chuckle, chortle and crack up at this quick-witted, off-the-dome comedy performance this Friday. Hooks and Books at Kreischer
If you are shook and need a nook, take a look at Hooks and Books. On Sunday, Oct. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m., head over to the second floor lounge on the Ashley-Batchelter side of Kreischer for crocheting, reading and good vibes. It doesn’t matter if you can crochet your own clothes or you thought it was pronounced “crotch-ett,” anybody can join in this easy-going event. If you left your hook and yarn at home but still want to crochet, materials will be provided while supplies last. This is the perfect opportunity to dive into that book you’ve been meaning to read or finally finish the project that has been taking up space on your desk. This calm, welcoming event provides a space to relax, get creative and meet people who match your vibe.

Trivia Night at Kreischer
Next Thursday, Oct. 9, show off your big brain at Trivia Night! Have fun and compete in fast-paced, low-pressure trivia in the Kreischer Sundial from 6 to 8 p.m. Trivia Night is hosted by the Office of Residence Life and Student Engagement. Participants will not only receive a collectable pin, but if you emerge victorious, you will win the grand prize: a BGSU hammock. Remember a few random facts, make a couple of lucky guesses and you might win a prize that you can relax in. Even if you aren’t in it to win it, all students are welcome for this brain-tickling event. Besides trivia night, Kreischer also hosts Name That Tune every other Thursday. This is a great chance to show your friends that your extensive knowledge of an obscure topic isn’t useless, or to learn something new. Bring your friends, fly solo or meet someone new Thursday, Oct. 9 at Trivia Night.

Symphonic Band Concert
Come one, come all to the Moore Musical Arts Center where BGSU’s Symphonic Band is gracing the public with a concert on Thursday, Oct. 9. The concert led by directors Dan Piccolo and Jonathan Ovalle starts at 8 p.m. with two pieces performed by the percussion ensemble. Enjoy a skilled rhythmic display played with marimbas and xylophones as the ensemble performs pieces titled “Chromatic Foxtrot” and “Valse Brilliante,” both composed by George Hamilton Green. Next, the Symphonic Band will present four pieces: “Combination March,” “Three Negro Dances,” “Log Cabin Blues” and a five movement piece titled “Suite of Old American Dances.” Don’t miss out on this exhibit of musical mastery and bring your listening ears to the Moore Musical Arts Center at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.
