A Bowling Green local just opened her own salon in the town she calls home.
Liv’s Esthetics, started by Alivia Smith, recently held its grand opening on Oct. 4.
“No one’s really seen it yet, so it’s super exciting,” said Smith.
The salon’s grand opening celebration was a partnership with Storyline Ink for Tattoo Oktoberfest.
“They’re gonna be doing tattoos, piercings, permanent jewelry. We’re going to have goodie bags for everyone and then there are a couple of giveaways,” Smith said.
Even if you missed the grand opening, Storyline Ink has a studio in Bryan, OH and Liv’s Esthetics is open in downtown Bowling Green, providing spa-like services.
“I offer facials, full body waxing, lashes, brows. I’m gonna do headspa services and then there’s gonna be a hairstylist here eventually,” Smith said.
After working at a salon in Bowling Green, Smith decided to start her own business.
“I used to work at a salon and now I’ve got my own building. Just so exciting and something I’ve always dreamed of, so I’m super excited to bring it to life and share it with everyone,” Smith said.
Smith and her dad spent about two months getting Liv’s Esthetics ready to open to the public.
“We completely renovated it and it was chaotic, because it was just my dad and I doing it,” Smith said. “We don’t know how to renovate, but we did it and we learned and it was really fun and a special thing to do with him.”
Smith is excited for this new journey of being her own boss and thanks her clients for helping her make this “dream” her reality.
“It is so important to me to create a space that’s comfortable and clean and safe for my clients and being my own boss and having my own business,” Smith said. “I’m so grateful that I have the best clients ever,” Smith said.
Liv’s Esthetics is located at 133 W Wooster St.
