Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the city’s new pickleball courts outside the BG Community Center at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
The event will add eight new outdoor pickleball courts to the Bowling Green community. Pickleball has gained traction in recent years with all ages, but has become particularly popular with retirees.
The opening of the courts shows the dedication and enthusiasm of the Bowling Green pickleball community, as well as the continued partnership between Bowling Green and the city’s Parks and Recreation Foundation.
At the ceremony, remarks will be made by those who made the courts a reality, the ribbon-cutting will take place and free pickleball instruction and play will be offered by BG Parks and Recreation instructors.
The event will be free to the public, and community members can RSVP by Oct. 21 at www.bgchamber.net/rsvp/.
