Free Martial Arts Classes
Come kick it at the Student Recreation Center, Room 38, for a free martial arts class Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Instructed by Chief Well-Being Officer and sixth-degree black belt, Ben Batey, this class aims to teach students self-defense, bodily awareness and all-around well-being through a martial art called taijutsu. This Japanese martial art focuses on self-defense through both unarmed combat and traditional weapon techniques. Classes are held weekly and are open to all BGSU students, faculty and staff regardless of ability level. Comfortable clothes are recommended and there is no registration required. Improve your mental, physical and spiritual well-being in a supportive environment Tuesday, Oct. 28 with a free martial arts class.

Starlit Stanzas at the Planetarium
Have you ever wanted to combine your love for linguistics and lyricism with the constellations of the cosmos? Join fellow poets and astronomy enthusiasts at the planetarium on Friday, Oct. 24 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for Starlit Stanzas: Creative Poetry Writing Under the Dome. Let the beauty of the simulated night sky inspire your poetry, whether you perform it out loud or keep it to yourself. Even if you are not a poet yourself, you can still come to enjoy the sights of the planetarium and the performances of your fellow falcons. The program will start with readings and discussion of several poems inspired by the night sky and stargazing on the roof will follow. The event is free, but a $2 donation is suggested. Bring your friends or make some new ones at Starlit Stanzas at the planetarium.

Pumpkins After Dark
Looking for a crafty way to celebrate the Halloween season with your fellow falcons? Look no further than the Pumpkins, Paint and Polaroids event with Falcons After Dark. On Friday, Oct. 24, go to the Falcons Nest in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union at 7 p.m. to enjoy pumpkin painting, fall-themed crafts and even get a Polaroid photo to remember the event. Mini pumpkins and art supplies will be provided, as well as some seasonal snacks. Relax and enjoy the fall vibes, make festive crafts to decorate your room and make new friends at this free event, which is open to all students. Even if you just come to hang out and get a Polaroid picture with your friends, all students are welcome. Join Falcons After Dark for Pumpkins, Paint and Polaroids for festive fall fun this Friday at 7 p.m.

Doggie Study Hours
Want to relax and study in the company of BGSU’s friendliest furry friends? Head over to Jerome Library on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 5 p.m. and join Doggie Study Hours with the BGSU PAWS Team. Whether you need to decompress, destress or you just miss your own dogs, spending time with these canine companions is a great way to brighten your week. Despite the name “Doggie Study Hours,” you are not required to study while you are there. Feel free to show up, spend time with amazing therapy dogs and their handlers and let your worries melt away. If you can not make it this time, fear not, because Doggie Study Hours is a weekly event every Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. Prepare to smile with the BGSU PAWS Team this Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Jerome Library.
