For the holiday season, Downtown BG will host Merry and Bright, a schedule of events celebrating the community’s favorite holiday traditions.
Merry and Bright has five holiday events that will take place starting on Nov. 20 and ending on Dec. 6.
The first event will be the Coyote Beads & Jewelry Holiday Party on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration and Concert hosted by the Wood County District Public Library will take place on Friday, Nov. 21. The event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for the BG community to enjoy.
Activities include an opportunity to take photos with holiday characters, a holiday storytime located in The Children’s Place, the tree lighting with Mayor Mike Aspacher and a performance in the Atrium by the BGHS Madrigals.
The Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The community will have the opportunity to enjoy Northwest Ohio’s largest holiday parade, televised through WTOL 11.
The parade will include dozens of holiday-themed floats by local organizations and marching bands, live performances and music, candy and an appearance made by Santa at the end of the parade.
Olivers and Max pet grooming will have their 3rd annual pet photos with Santa event on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m. For $15, community members can bring their pets in and have their holiday photos taken.
The concluding event for BG Merry and Bright is the Oak Grove Monthly Market on Dec. 4 to 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The BG community can sip, shop, enjoy samples from local bakers and celebrate the holiday season at the family-friendly market.
