Feeling stressed out? Bowling Green State University has many ways to relieve stress. School can get tough at times, especially near the end of the semester. That’s why it’s important to be able to give yourself some time to relax and enjoy what else the campus has to offer.
The Student Recreation Center
The Student Recreation Center can come in handy and you can even invite some friends to tag along. This is a great way to blow off some steam, whether it is rock climbing, lifting in the weight area or swimming. There is also a well-being room where you can enjoy winding down on one of the massage chairs.
Going to Peaceful Spots
BGSU has plenty of spaces on campus where you can go outside and enjoy your surroundings. The Oval, Prout Chapel gardens and the fountain at the center of Alumni Gateway are all great places. You are able to take a walk, meditate or just sit with some friends. Even as the weather gets colder, a few minutes of fresh air where you’re not walking to your next class can be refreshing.
Bowen-Thompson Student Union
The Union provides many spots for students to eat and rest in the lounge areas. Getting food and sitting down with friends can help soothe the stress. Enjoying a coffee at Starbucks can be a great opportunity for a break. You can bring a book to read, socialize with other students and possibly meet new friends.
BGSU Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is on campus and is offered to students. They have free workshops and seminars on stress management as well as relaxation rooms with guided meditation tools. There is individual counseling and group counseling that talk about stress. Students can stop by East Hall 101 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule an appointment. These resources can help you combat stressful times in the future.
