For the holiday season, Downtown BG will host Merry and Bright, a schedule of events celebrating the community’s favorite holiday traditions.
Merry and Bright has five holiday events taking place from Nov. 20 to Dec. 6.
The first event will be the Coyote Beads & Jewelry Holiday Party on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration and Concert hosted by the Wood County District Public Library will take place on Friday, Nov. 21.
The event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and features different activities for the BG community.
Activities include photo opportunities with holiday characters, a holiday storytime located in The Children’s Place, the tree lighting with BG Mayor Mike Aspacher and a performance in the Atrium by the Bowling Green High School Madrigals.
The Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The community will have the opportunity to enjoy Northwest Ohio’s largest holiday parade, televised through WTOL.
The parade will include holiday floats by local organizations and marching bands, live performances and music, candy and an appearance from Santa at the end of the parade.
Olivers and Max pet grooming will have their third annual pet photos with Santa event on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m.
For $15, community members can bring their pets in for holiday photos.
The last event for BG Merry and Bright is the Oak Grove Monthly Market from Dec. 4 to 6, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The BG community can sip, shop, enjoy samples from local bakers and celebrate the holiday season at the family-friendly market.
