The week ahead brings a taste of true winter to campus, expect cold temps, blustery winds and a few rounds of snow. Between highs hovering around freezing and lows dipping into the teens, it’s a week that calls for coats, boots and a readiness for slippery sidewalks.
Monday: A cold day with a mix of clouds and sunshine, high near 29 °F, low around 17 °F. Great for quick breaks between classes, but bundle up for the walk across campus. Evening air stays brisk so a warm jacket is a must.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy and windy, high climbing just to 36 °F, low hovering around 32 °F. The breeze will make things feel colder than the thermometer shows, so expect frost-bitten cheeks without gloves. Perfect excuse to grab hot coffee inside before heading to class.
Wednesday: Windy with on-and-off snow or rain showers, high around 40 °F, low near 24 °F. Conditions will feel raw and damp and sidewalks may get slippery. Best to keep outdoor time short and plan for indoor hangouts or study sessions.
Thursday: Partly sunny until afternoon when clouds thicken with a chance of a few snow showers, high near 30 °F, low dipping to 18 °F. Cold and wintry, a day where layering matters. Dorms, libraries or indoor meeting spots will be more appealing than the quad.
Friday: Mostly cloudy and cold with a couple of snow showers possible, high near 27 °F, low down to 16 °F. Expect biting air and a real winter-weather vibe. If you must be outside, make it quick, the cold will sneak up fast.
Saturday: Bitter-cold and gray, high near 22 °F, low around 12 °F. Snow may linger from overnight or build into a light dusting, not a day for lounging outdoors. Winter gear is recommended if leaving your dorm.
Sunday: Some morning snow possible, then mostly cloudy skies with highs near 32 °F and lows near 17 °F. A chilly wrap-up to the week, a slow walk downtown or a warm drink inside sounds just right.
It’s a rugged week ahead at Bowling Green State University, cold, snowy and wintry from start to finish. With temps rarely climbing above freezing and nights plunging well below, students should plan on warm layers, sturdy shoes and indoor alternatives. It’s a full winter preview, so stay warm and stay safe out there.

Guess most things still stay the same at BG in winter. Biggest difference is we didn’t have the bus transport available “back in the day”. Recall a campus tour for my granddaughter several yrs ago. Tour guide walk.ed backward pretty much throughout, said it was easier to talk while showing off the campus. But it was COLD… a true BG day!
