Since joining the Falcons in the offseason, Troy Glover II is finding his presence in the stat sheet, to go along with his quieter, less noticed contributions on the court.
For much of the season. Glover’s contributions to the team went beyond what you can track on a stat sheet, showing up for key screens and solid perimeter defense for his size, which were among his contributions to the Orange and Brown.
It’s important to note that Glover was never a bad player: just that, again, many of his contributions were not tracked by the stat sheet. But now, his impact is showing up all over the place on the scoreboard.
Over the past four games, Glover is averaging 8.8 points, 9.0 rebounds (3.8 offensive), and 2.5 blocks, while shooting 61.5% from the field.
More impressively, over the past two wins over Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan, Glover has recorded eight blocks total in both games.
Glover is playing at the level he once was last season when he played for Missouri-St. Louis, where he was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player (GLVC) of the year for the 24-25 season.
In his USML career, Glover averaged 8.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. With his recent stretch of games for the Orange and Brown, Glover will need to carry over his strong play into the next stretch of games.
With the Falcons’ upcoming games against Toledo (10-9), Buffalo (13-6), Central Michigan (5-14), and finally, a Feb 3 matchup vs the currently undefeated Miami OH (20-0), the strong rebounding ability of Glover will be needed.
Now with Glover, it’s just a matter of maintaining his current pace of play as the Falcons will need his rebounding and blocking ability as they push forward towards the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament.
