January is National Mentoring Month, where organizations across the nation celebrate and raise awareness of the benefits of mentorship. Bowling Green State University (BGSU) offers many ways for students to find a mentor and become a mentor on campus.
Life Design Coach at the Radbill Center
At BGSU, each student has the opportunity to connect with a Life Design coach through the Radbill Center for College and Life Design. These coaches help students by providing guidance and empowering skills that allow students to thrive during their time at BGSU. Coaches offer personalized support to help students navigate through any situation that may arise. This allows students to feel more confident and prepared to handle the sometimes tricky college atmosphere. Once enrolled in BGSU, students begin a relationship with a Life Design Coach.

Through the Residence Life Office at BGSU, resident success mentors are available for first-year residential students. These mentors work to help students by developing supportive relationships with students to provide positive guidance and helpful leadership for those adjusting to becoming a college student. For students interested in becoming mentors, there are a few minimum qualifications. Some of these qualifications include being a full-time student and maintaining a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
