Bowling Green State University (BGSU) has many on-campus student organizations, and there are some that bring Black students together and create safe spaces. Here are four Black student organizations offered at BGSU.
Black Student Union
BGSU’s Black Student Union (BSU) was founded Feb. 19, 1969, and is a strong, vital presence within the BGSU student community. BSU creates culture and political awareness for Black students and the campus community. Their work is guided by values of unity, leadership, scholarship and growth, creating a space for all students to learn more and find a safe space on campus.

National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a nationwide organization for nine historically black and international Greek organizations. These organizations evolved during a time when Black Americans were being denied essential rights that other college students were being offered. Today, they act as student organizations that work towards educational interest, economic awareness and serving the community. The following chapters are present at BGSU: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
