Mind Matters
Faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about mental health support during a free Campus and Community Well-Being Resources training on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The first session, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in Room 315, will focus on campus well-being resources and how to respond to mental health concerns. A second session, from 10:15 to 11 a.m., will highlight community mental health services available throughout Wood County. Organizers say the training aims to help attendees feel more confident supporting others and connecting them with the right resources. Students interested in learning more about improving their overall well-being can contact the Office of Health and Wellness located in the Student Recreation Center.

Stretch, Relax, Repeat
Students, faculty and staff can unwind at free “Yoga As You Are” classes held on Wednesdays from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in Room 142 of the Jerome Library. The low-impact sessions focus on movement, stress relief and improving mental well-being. Regular physical activity can help boost mood, support brain function and reduce stress. No registration is required, and participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or towel. The classes are a part of campus wellness programming designed to help the community stay active and recharge during the semester. Along with yoga at the Jerome Library, there are other events hosted at the Student Recreation Center where students of all experience levels can relax and improve overall health with a physical activity. These different movement sessions hosted by the Recreation Center are free and open to all students, faculty and staff at the university.
