For students without cars or looking to save on travel, the GoBus offers a convenient way to reach cities across Ohio. Recently, they have added a new stop at Bowling Green.
The GoBus can take passengers across the entire state, traveling from Toledo to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Athens and everything in between.
Matthew Snow, Director of Community Development for Bowling Green, said the community can travel further distances with the help of the GoBus.
“GoBus provides a new intercity connection for Bowling Green residents, students and visitors by linking the city to several regional destinations across Ohio. Riders can now travel to larger transit hubs and cities, including Toledo, Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland, where they can connect to other transportation options,” Snow said.
Hocking – Athens – Perry Community Action’s Transportation Division administers the federally funded GoBus intercity bus service. The GoBus complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility on its 50-passenger motor coaches. GoBus keeps fares through a mileage-based fare structure, according to ridegobus.com.
According to ridegobus.com, to purchase tickets to the GoBus, students or community members can purchase them online, by phone or at 2111 E. Wooster St. GoBus bases its ticket prices on distance traveled.
GoBus ticket base fares range between $5 and $30. In addition to base fares, there is also sales tax and a $2 service fee.
Children five and younger can ride for free, but riders should inform the GoBus ahead of time so staff can reserve a seat. GoBus allows two free child tickets per adult.
