Film in the union
An international film series is showing ‘Antigone,’ a 2019 film spoken in French with English subtitles. It is being shown at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Room 206, on Wednesday, March 18, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. ‘Antigone’ is a modern adaptation of the classic Greek tragedy of the same name. ‘Antigone’ confronts the police, the judicial and penal system and the father of her friend Haemon in her quest for her imprisoned brother. This film is part of the International Film Series organized by the Department of World Languages and Cultures. The filmmaker, Sophie Deraspe, will be there for a Q&A after the movie, and refreshments will be available. The event is free for anyone to attend. The Department of World Languages and Cultures is doing two more films after Antigone.

Peer support group
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Connection Recovery Support Group meets on the third Thursday of each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in room 427 of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. The free, peer-led group is open to Bowling Green State University (BGSU) students and young adults ages 18 to 30 who have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Participants can connect with others, share experiences and gain insight from hearing about both challenges and successes. Meetings are led by trained student facilitators with lived experience. The program is a partnership between NAMI Wood County, the BGSU Office of Health and Wellness and NAMI on Campus BGSU. The group does not meet during university holidays or breaks. This support group is a good opportunity for students to connect with others who share similar experiences and learn more about mental health conditions.
