BGSU women’s basketball has signed Carolina Silva, a 6-foot-2 center and Portugal native.
“With her success internationally, she was highly coveted both overseas and here in the U.S.,” said Bowling Green head coach Fred Chmiel. “Carolina is a three-level scorer and polished competitor who will have a great impact on our roster.”
Silva averaged 4.3 points and 3 rebounds per game with Quinta dos Lombos in Portuguese Liga Fermina during the 2025-26 season. The team went 20-2 in the regular season and were eliminated after a five-game series in the championship round of the postseason.
She also represented Portugal in the FIBA U16 Women’s EuroBasket Division B in 2024, where she averaged 20.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3 assists across seven games.
Silva joins Eugenia Ngungo, Sol Depetris and Aurélie Vanderstraeten in the group of international prospects that the team has brought on in the past three weeks.
