What began in basements with borrowed gear bloomed into a band with a sonic identity all its own. Daisy Chain, an emerging indie act from Northwest Ohio, is steadily carving out space in the region’s vibrant DIY scene layering grunge grit, dreamy textures, and lyrical honesty into something raw, restless and resonant.
“We’ve always been focused on doing it our way,” said Jackson during a recent video shared to their Instagram. “We don’t fit neatly into a genre and we don’t really want to.”
Their music, which you can stream on Spotify, is hard to pin down but easy to fall into. With swirling guitars, punchy rhythms, and emotionally charged vocals, Daisy Chain feels equal parts shoegaze and garage rock, often shifting gears within a single track. But beneath the distortion and reverb lies an emotional core that hits home for fans of early 2000s alternative and newer post-emo revival sounds.
Daisy Chain didn’t start as a single project. “We were two different bands,” said Jackson, one of the group’s founding members. “And those two different bands eventually fell apart. And we all were like, ‘What do we do now?’ We all just got together and it kind of worked out well—and we said, hell yeah, let’s keep this going.” That spontaneous fusion gave way to the sound and chemistry the band brings to stages now.
Their aesthetic lo-fi visuals, handwritten lyrics, and film grain performance videos comes through clearly on social media. On Instagram, the band documents its journey from house shows to music video shoots, inviting fans into both the chaos and the craft. Their music video for “Introvert” captures that energy: raw and atmospheric, equal parts punk catharsis and sonic meditation.
Despite their rising presence, Daisy Chain remains grounded in the local scene. They’re regulars at house shows and local venues throughout Toledo and Bowling Green, often playing alongside other underground bands and student-led projects. It’s a scene built on mutual support, and Daisy Chain true to their name is one of its strongest connecting threads.
As they continue to build a following both online and off, Daisy Chain is proving that vulnerability, volume, and vision are more than enough to break through.
