Hemmingway Lane is an up-and-coming band from Ann Arbor, MI – starting back in 2021, they’ve been making music ever since. With four members, they craft an alternative rock, indie, and at times emo sound. Elijah sings and plays guitar, Juji plays guitar, Logan plays bass, Sam plays the drums.
Their latest release was a five-song EP, Arcadia, released on October 31, 2025 and was recorded with Stephen Warsler. The biggest inspiration for Arcadia were releases like Waiting to Spill by The Backseat Lovers, and lots of Radiohead.
Elijah said the band went in a new direction with Arcadia.
“It’s a vibe switch from what we’ve done in the past,” he added.
The new vibe came with new visuals as the band recently changed their logo and debuted a new look. Created by their friend Tyler, their new logo has an owl front and center, with Arcadia and HWL (standing for Hemmingway Lane).
“We’ve been a band since 2021 and the entire time we’ve gone I think that a bird represents this band a lot. I think that birds are very cool and it could work really well and we could never land on anything,” Elijah said. “One day I texted our buddy Tyler. he does all of our all of our uh like graphic design stuff … I said, ‘Hey, dude, do your thing.’ ”
And it fit with some of the group’s new music.
“Some of our new tunes feel very autumnal, we have a song called ‘October’ and an owl felt like a good fit,” said Elijiah.
As for their next era, their upcoming plans are to get on the road more and play some more shows.
