Feeling disconnected? Wondering if there’s more to college than just homework and sleeping? You’re not alone. If you’re looking to meet fellow falcons, get involved and immerse yourself in the BGSU experience, here are four ways you can do just that.
Intramural Sports
Joining an intramural team is a great way to get active on campus. From basketball to badminton, BGSU offers a great variety of nearly 20 intramural sports. Purchase a semester or year-long pass and you can play as many of them as you choose. Whether you were an athlete in high school or you’re trying something new, participating in intramural sports is a great opportunity to have fun and make new friends.
Student Organizations
Among BGSU’s over 350 student organizations, you’re sure to find a group that piques your interest. Joining an organization that you resonate with can be a gateway to meeting new friends and exploring your passions. You can even join a group you know nothing about and learn something new.
Volunteering
Helping others through volunteering isn’t just the neighborly thing to do, it’s also an amazing way to connect and engage with your community. Dozens of volunteer organizations operate in Bowling Green, often with the help of BGSU students. There are even opportunities to volunteer right here on campus. If connection and fulfillment are what you seek, then make some new friends while making a difference through community service.
Greek Life
Many students find a sense of belonging through joining one of over 30 sororities and fraternities on campus. At BGSU, developing lasting friendships and leadership skills while contributing to the public good is a cornerstone of Greek life. By providing a sense of siblinghood and a network of support, participating in a sorority or fraternity can greatly enrich your college experience.
