The final installment of Bowling Green’s Slow Roll Bike Ride series will roll out with a Halloween theme on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m., offering community members a festive and family-friendly way to celebrate the season.
Hosted by the City of Bowling Green’s Bicycle Safety Commission, the event encourages riders to dress in costume and decorate their bicycles for a spooky afternoon tour. The ride will begin and end at the City Building Parking Lot, located at 305 N. Main St.
Along the route, participants will stop at various locations around Bowling Green to hear local ghost stories, legends and tales of allegedly haunted sites, adding a storytelling element to the leisurely-paced ride.
The event is free and open to all ages, with an emphasis on safety and accessibility. All riders must wear properly-fitted helmets and use bikes in good working condition. For younger participants not able to ride independently, tow-behind trailers or child bike seats are recommended.
Designed to promote both fun and safe cycling practices, the slow roll series encourages responsible bike riding in an urban environment. Each ride is led by trained volunteers, who will assist riders and help with any mechanical or personal issues along the way.
Spooks & Spokes marks the end of the 2025 slow roll season, wrapping up months of community-centered biking events aimed at promoting health, safety and exploration throughout the city.
