Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is hosting the first annual Great Lakes AI Week Conference in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union from Nov. 4 to 6.
The conference is bringing in over 1,000 professionals across America, including those in Fortune 500 Companies, innovative startups and leading colleges and universities.
“[The event will hold] insightful conversation, hands-on workshops and valuable connections focused on leveraging and harnessing AI’s power to advance educational and employer needs in the broader region and beyond,” as stated in an email from BGSU.
Some featured events during the week are an AI Leadership Summit on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Thursday, Nov. 6, there will be a Women in Tech and AI Breakfast from 8 to 9:30 a.m and an AI for Business Summit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This comes after BGSU launches the nation’s first customizable AI+X bachelor’s degree, which combines a core education in AI with a secondary discipline in computer science, mathematics, physics, history, journalism or public relations.
Applications for this degree are now open for students.
