The BGSU men’s cross country team wrapped up its 2025 campaign on Friday morning, competing at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Evansville, Indiana. Racing against one of the deepest and most competitive fields in the nation, the Falcons placed 30th overall at the Angel Mounds Cross Country Course.
“Today tested us, as championship races should,” said associate head coach Rachel Rhynard. “We’re going to keep showing up and putting in the work. If we stay consistent and keep taking steps forward, the progress will come.”
Individual Highlights
Junior Micah Bentley once again led the way for the Falcons, finishing 157th with a time of 33:40.74. Sophomore Luke Lesseuer continued his strong postseason surge, running a personal best of 33:58.21 for 168th place.
Sophomore Owen Zaumeyer crossed next, placing 182nd in 34:22.38, followed by junior Luke Woolard, who finished 202nd in 35:11.24. Senior Bryce Weber added a 206th-place finish in 35:43.94.
Freshman Isaak Rubley and freshman Wyatt Ulbricht closed out the Falcons’ lineup, running in tandem to finish 208th and 209th with times of 36:15.66 and 36:18.27, respectively.
Team Results
Bowling Green scored 894 points to finish 30th. Notre Dame captured the regional title with 60 points, followed closely by Butler (75) and Wisconsin (99). MAC programs Toledo (214), Akron (328), Ohio (385), Miami (440), Eastern Michigan (509), and Central Michigan (533) also competed in the 30-team field.
Season Wrap-Up
The regional meet brought an end to Bowling Green’s 2025 season, a year defined by steady growth, a young core gaining valuable experience, and strong individual progress across the roster. With several underclassmen contributing in championship races, the Falcons look positioned to take meaningful steps forward in 2026.
