BGSU hockey (3-3-3, 3-1-3) secured a 9-5 victory over the Ferris State Bulldogs (2-9-0, 1-4-0) on Friday, Nov. 14.
Among the key contributors for the Falcons were freshman forward Noah Morneau, who scored a hat trick, which included the game-winning goal, senior forward Quinn Emerson, who contributed three assists during the contest; and freshman forward Jake Sloan, who scored a goal and an assist, including his first career collegiate goal.
However, Bowling Green’s biggest contributor in the victory was Dominik Rymon, who scored a total of four points during the contest, made up of two goals and two assists.
Rymon would score the first two goals of the game for the Falcons, with his first goal coming via a rebound opportunity that the Karlovy Vary, Czechia native was able to capitalize on.
Rymon would score again via a weird shot that banked in off FSU’s sophomore goaltender Martin Lundberg.
Later in the game, Rymon would add two assists during power play opportunities by assisting on junior forward Tyler Hotson’s goal during the second period and Morneau’s eventual game-winner in the third period.
“I gain confidence,” said Rymon. “We’re working hard, we’re working the way we want, and we get the cookies.”
Rymon’s four points are a career high for the freshman and the most any Falcon has scored in a single game so far this season.
The four points also put Rymon at three goals and five assists for eight points on the campaign. Rymon is now tied with Hotson for second place on the team in goal scoring and tied with Hotson for third place on the team in assists, while being tied with Hotson and Morneau for second place on the team in points.
On top of his offensive production, Rymon has cemented himself as an excellent teammate so far this season.
“You’ll never find a guy more happier than Dominik Rymon,” said head coach Dennis Williams. “When someone else scores, and even on the bench, you can hear him cheering for everybody.”
Rymon and the Falcons will look to secure a sweep over the Ferris State Bulldogs tonight as they close out their weekend series at the Slater Family Ice Arena.
Falcon Media Sports Network’s Ben Corak will be joined by Nathan Burkett on WBGU 88.1 FM with puck drop scheduled for 6:07 p.m.
